XLPE full form | XLPE Meaning

Cross Linked Polythene is the XLPE full from which is a type of polythene with cross links. It is rounded shaped and using for building services exclusively. Cross-linking creates bridges between the single poly-ethylene molecules, then called cross linked.

It was developed in the 1960's. PEX tubing uses by many European countries for plumbing,snow melt applications and radiant heating. They can be used under the slab, or for underground cold-water service applications or for aboveground outdoor applications.

• Dental applications
• Automotive Ducts & Housings

There are three ways to create Cross Linked Polythene (XLPE):-

1. The Engel or Peroxide.
2. The Silane way.
3. E-beam or Electron Beam way or method.

In European that ways or methods known as PEX-A, PEX-B, PEX-C.

Sizes available 1/4" through 4" Copper Tube Size and is packaged in coils or straight lengths. Some generator's tubing is color-coded for easy to identify of hot and cold water lines. Normally, Coil lengths run to a supreme of 1000' and are available in a manner of smaller lengths as well. Metric PEX is generally available in MM such as - 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 63.
